Hi

mile: ,
I need some help from someone. I like alot of music genres and styles and I have build up a huge music collection over some years. My problem is that I also want a bit more cajun and Zydeco music in my collection. The Cajun and Zydeco music are sadly not that widespread here in Denmark. I know it is available over at Google Play and Microsoft Groove, but it is a heck of digging because I don't know many artists who plays that kind of music. I would be very happy if someone could give me some names of some artists or bands that plays that music!

mile: Thank you very much in advance!

Beausoleil is one of the definitive groups in the genre
Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys is another
I have several from each and can recommend both

Ann Savoy (and her various associated acts) is a well-known Cajun singer of whom I am aware only because of her collaborative album with Linda Ronstadt. Their Adieu False Heart is worth seeking out IMHO ⦠superb recording by two mature and highly accomplished artists.
This is song of mourning from that album, which evolved from a poem written by a Creole slave referred to as Pierre, from St Martinville; heâs is wondering why the grass is still green and the birds still sing ⦠donât they know his beloved Marie has died?

Wow, yet another great artist! Bet they had a good time at that concert. Well, I better find me way over at Microsoft Groove and listen to more of Clifton Cheiner! (I guess I soon will go bankrupt  ) - In the meantime I have also found a few albums with The Balfa Brothers and Qeen Ida and Her Zydeco Band, which is very worth listening to! Again thank you very much for your help and suggestions!
