Personally I don't think they will work. But it is all down to the individual, and how they learn and remember things.

The only problem is you may learn bad habits without the experience of someone telling you.

What you looking to play?

YouTube! They have lessons for all playing levels. Just type in the instrument you want to learn.

Did you ever try any of those online lessons? How did you get on?

it works very well if you find right one Smile
of course you must find someone who knows that instrument to tell you if this lesson is ok or not

I did not read the other replies but, It will work if you already have some knowledge.

If it is not the case, find a good teacher that can dedicate exclusevelly to your needs.

Particular teachers are better than conservatories in my opinion.

Hope it helps.

Cheers!

Blimey, that would annoy me. I thought youtube could only upload a maximum of 10 minutes. That means you would have to keep searching and clicking for the next lesson. Would annoy me too much for it to work.

But I would love to hear from anyone who has tried online lessons and succeeded

I post up stuff on YouTube to help out flute players. They are not lessons, just lots of music and people seem to enjoy them. It's a hobby of mine.

What I do notice is when someone posts up a video response, a lot give feedback so it's sort of a lesson. Also, I get lots of emails asking this and that and am always happy to help out, if I can.
