Happy New Year everyone! My first question for this year and hope someone answers it is that what are the steps to become famous? To explain, aside from practicing what are some endorsements or something you must do to get a record deal or a movie contract. What people do you have to meet and what places do you have to go? One of the things that I do is suggested to someone is that I upload my music at soundcloud.com . I haven't uploaded any music because I haven't been composing for a while. But my composition teacher is coming back this Saturday so after we learn about counterpoint, then we start composing.
My heart is overflowing with a good theme; I recite my composition concerning the King; My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

Forget about fame. Think about creating meaningful music instead. That will be around long after the fame has evaporated.

Well the world needs another music artist who can bring meaningful music. So you know any knowledge about it. Or I can just join Music Industry seminars or something.

One Direction,Beiber etc etc are "famous"...but their music is no good, it will not be remembered in 10,15,20 years time because they set out to be famous...!
the music has no "soul", its empty, it will be forgotten as quickly asey emerged on the music scene...!
artists who made music, because they liked making music usually achieve fame accidently....they are the ones who make meaningful music that is remembered decades later!
ie: Beatles...they made music for a living and played in horrible smelly rat infested bars for years, they found fame accidently(like many others), they werent out to "rule the world", they did what they did because they could and the results stood the test of time...
McCartney wrote "yesterday" because he could, and because whatever it was interested him, he didnt say "oh, im gonna try and write a song that 10,000 other artists will record over the decades"...
if he did that, the song would have been 'forced' and not genuinely pleasant...END OF STORY!
moral of the story:
make music because you enjoy it and the riches will find you in the process!

Well said CH ! I read that one of the reasons The Beatles became so good was because they spent over two years in Hamburg from 1960 - 1962 and played virtually every night to hone their musicianship!
Blanche, as for a step by step manual or guide on how to become famous.,,,, good song writing and singing is a given! However having said that the famous artists of the day lack both prerequisites so that theory goes out the window! Just be relentless in your goal and hope for a decent break!

1. Copy someone else
2. Use autotune
3. Profit
That's the easy way.

Make tons of money by yourself or find a rich person. Producers will do rest of the job.
