What Are You Listening To?
The Doobie Brothers - Stampede. To be followed by another album by them - What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits.

title track was a tribute to the then newly departed Kurt Cobain...
and Nirvana's "nevermind" was, in Neil's opinion, the best thing he'd heard in the last 20+yrs...

my favourite is the piece of crap called "piece of crap", only because its so bad its brilliant!

love your favourite track also,I rather like the album, hate that Safeway Cart track

I bought Nevermind because I figured that an album so popular must have some good tracks on it. To date, I have played it once and then stored it away. I cannot listen to any of it. I don't like a single track off that album.

Nevermind, barely makes the pass grade for me (1.7 on the MHRS)....
nothing special IMO....
I do love their "MTV Unplugged" album though, the songs sound much better stripped down to acoustics
and Cobain does have a pretty good voice when he sings as opposed to the screaming vocals of their studio albums

Bob Marley - Uprising. One of my favourites by him. The undisputed master of reggae.

22nd album
#5 here
his highest charting since Harvest
probably driven by the Pearl Jam appearance
no standout for me
it clicked at the time as I had become a Pearl Jam fan
but they got old fast

i love Downtown, one of his best rockin' tracks IMO...
probably the best of the Grunge bands,
love Eddie Vedder as a vocalist also (not that he sung on Mirrorball),
I think he has a very good vocal range, can sing just about anything, from Grunge through his
live work with 7 Worlds Collide with Neil Finn singing Split Enz/Crowded House songs,
but this cover of Mother is brilliant IMO:

Tanita Tikaram - I find many of her songs quite difficult to unravel (lyrically anyway - it's like walking through a maze) but I just think they are superb. Maybe there's a lesson in there somewhere - just enjoy it for what it is and don't over-analyze it. https://youtu.be/bEemHZqWOqk

And my favourite of hers - https://youtu.be/AOemA88vG4M Love the strings on this track.
