Just kidding, geez! Probably the toughest of any for me. How to choose?

This was also tough in that the first few albums were different in the U.K. vs. U.S. In the U.S. our first album was Meet The Beatles. The first few albums listed have a lot of the same tracks on different albums, but I posted them all.

Also posted the Soundtracks even though they probably will not get any votes, but hey, it's the Beatles for gosh sakes.

Capitol, the Beatles' U.S. distributor had a bad habit of not only releasing completely different albums but also altering the track listing on many of the others so that until, I believe, Sgt. Pepper none actually corresponded with the U.K./Australian releases.
I believe that situation may have changed once they were re-edited for release on CD but I'm unsure.
As to the rest of the World - I have no idea what the situation was.

Why was this done? Was it because they weren't conceived as albums but rather each song as a single? Then it up to the record label to group them into compilations. Or did the Beatles simply not have much artistic control until later in their career? Are the Beatles partially responsible for the long-player album?
