Metallica "hardwired"
first release off their soon to be released latest studio album...
seems to me like theyre going back to their 'thrash 'metal' roots
with this one...
simplistic bollocks lyrics also...
not keen on it but i'll still give the album a air go!
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

Sounds thrashy, like how they were in the 80s
Kinda reminds me of the way a few riffs from And Justice for All sound, but I may need to listen to it again

Exactly! Metallica circa Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets told a story in the lyrics, like how the song Master of Puppets was about drug addiction and Fade to Black was about suicide.
I'm not sure what the hell they're going on about here.
Eh, then again......

I heard Hardwired last night and yeah, I could tell Metallica has more of their thrash style back like from Ride The Lightning. Interesting.

I think Metallica is going back to their older style because a lot of their fans miss it. When they dropped St. Anger, they disappointed their fans who preferred the Ride The Lightning/Master of Puppets era more. Load and Reload also got a lukewarm reception.
Not only that, but even Metallica's concert setlists almost always feature the 80s and their black album material. They once had their audience vote for the songs they wanted the band to play to see what they wanted to hear and they voted for the earlier stuff.. so it seems to be to please their fanbase.

I agree... But after only one listening, I prefer the songs from And Justice for all...
