THE WHO CANCEL 50 DATE US/CANADIAN TOUR
Following an initial four-date cancellation, The Who is postponing its US and Canadian tour, which would have otherwise begun on September 14th.
Frontman Roger Daltrey was diagnosed with viral meningitis in August, leading to the cancellation of San Diego, Anaheim, Las Vegas and Los Angeles performances.
"I am now on the mend and feeling a lot better, but I am going to need a considerable time to recover," said Daltrey, apologising to fans for any disappointment. "The doctors tell me I will make a complete recovery, but that I should not do any touring this year."
Guitarist Pete Townshend confirmed the tour would be rescheduled for Spring 2016.
As The Who lineup's original members, Daltrey and Townshend are accompanied by a touring band that includes Ringo Starr's son Zak Starkey (Oasis, Johnny Marr), Pete's brother Simon (Pearl Jam, Jeff Beck), and Pino Palladino (John Mayer Trio, D'Angelo).
The four month tour, a 50th anniversary celebration for The Who, included stops at Madison Square Garden in New York, the Seattle Center, Caesars Palace, and the Oracle Arena.
