Joe Bonamassa - Blues Of Desperation
#11
Good response Uncle...
And differences in musical opinion is a great thing mate,
it would be boring if we all had the same opinions wouldn't it?

First I would like to quote something that Uncle Salty did say "But, people obviously hear something I don't, and that's what makes music cool." This really hit home with me & I do like the way the last phrase of this quote is worded. I disagree with his opinions of Clapton as I do love Clapton's blues playing especially on Just One Night. I'm also a huge Johnny Winter fan & now that guy could play the Blues(I love his work with Muddy Waters).

Anyway, I love Bonamassa's playing as well & will probably pick up this album in the next couple of days. I seen him live a couple of years ago & he was phenomenal live. Walter Trout's latest album "Battle Scars" is great as well

Picked up the new Bonamassa yesterday (along with the new Johnny Winter/Dr. John Live 1987) & really love the new Bonamassa. It may end up being my favorite studio album by him

On the topic of Claptopn, I felt he was overrated for a bit of time. I liked some things he did, but thought he got more credit than he deserved. Then I grabbed "Crossroads 2: Live in the 70's" for cheap and my entire opinion of him changed. That guy played out of his mind in the 70's. I'm a believer now.

As for the new Bonamassa, I probably need to relisten, but I was kind of underwhelmed the first listen through. I love "Drive" but I thought the rest was kinda flat. I should probably re-listen though. Dude's definitely talented and I'll probably buy his next one because I generally buy all his new studio releases (missed "Different Shades of Blue" or whatever the last one was due to financial restraints and just never went back to grab it and can't possibly keep up with his 85,000 live releases per year).
