Become a member of some Writers association.. & register the lyrics, if you haven't, so noone can steal them.

Secondly befriend a musician, come up with a tune for ur song, tell him to play it, this way you will attract more producers...
As most producers don't find raw stuff attractive & with potential..

Try publishing a poetry book... this will help your personality.

Make sure you get your work copyrighted before you post it anywhere online! I have a friend that wrote a song and uploaded it to the internet as just a funny thing and never really thought much more about it after that. Recently we found out it was pretty darn popular and since nobody knew who wrote it some dude from England stole credit for it! Now, you can buy it as a ringtone and all :tsk:
