Correct. She does.
Sometimes at them too. Just joking! Couldn't resist. Don't do e-readers, I like the smell of paper, and print.

John F. Love - McDonalds: Behind The Arches - 1995
Very nice history of the fast food giant. The California McDonald brothers started their restaurant business and sold their name to Ray Kroc who built it into the leader of the pack. Competitors have come and gone over the years and have settled into being also-rans. This was written in '95 so it's a little dated on the stats, but that's no matter. This is more about how they created the industry and made their brand what all others look up to. Not just the food but how to run a business. Just can't eat those things. Tastes like plastic to me. Hideous stuff.

Hideous stuff.burgers, or McDonalds burgers? why is there a difference? it's a cow steak or burger it comes out the same way obviously food is a matter of taste (pun intended and not intended) cost is not a measure of quality hell, I love spam and fresh tomato sandwiches and I'm not eating anyplace where I have to wait more than a few minutes

Music Head Wrote:burgers, or McDonalds burgers? Not burgers as such. I like a good hamburger. But the MCD's stuff tastes artificial to me. There's a big difference in taste when you actually go and buy the meat and make up a burger yourself as opposed to buying one from a takeout. As far as steak is concerned I find a big difference between beef from the Northern Hemisphere & the Southern Hemisphere. I like beef from South Africa (I am biased here of course) and South America. Beef in Ireland is particularly fatty. The animals have different systems to deal with the cold/climate. I think this plays a huge part in the actual end product and subsequently the taste. Hey I am no expert in this but I do taste a difference. Horses for courses and all that. Incidentally, Ireland keeps on going on about the quality of their beef and how there is traceability in their meat sector. And then we end up with horse and donkey meat and no-one can explain how this managed to get through the system undetected!!! It's all a sham.

I'm far removed from a connoisseur if it's meat, I eat it

Best meal I ever had in my life was in a tiny restaurant in Carcassonne in France - kangaroo steak - unbelievable.
