Top Guitarists Of All Time!

musiclists Wrote:you left off acoustic players like Tommy Emmanuel, Phil Keaggy and Micheal Hedges and jazz players like Django Reinhardt, Pat Metheny and Joe Pass, classical players like Andres Segovia, Julian Bream and Christopher Parkening, female players like Miki Berenyi, Kaki King and Marnie Stern, country players like Merle Travis, Chet Atkins and Hank Garland and blues players like T-Bone Walker, Lonnie Johnson and Albert King

Quite a magnificent list--you could spend many happy hours working your way through it. Here's some of the women:
Ms. Berenyi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5ClsBZ08IA and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2qbMP4YSu0 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYF7VFvzWGo
Ms. King: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4_Lp9xZJ5w and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTR9eveCx4g and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVG8DJLOs5U
Ms. Stern: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZDtMTY0I3w and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVNMKmGCTVM and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-waJkiflb0
Those guys you can find on your own.

Duh!!!!! What about Keith Richards and his astonishing and enduring array of riffs and songs. His guitar playing has been consistently innovative and even his online mixing is good, and his use of alternate tuning lies at the heart of the Stones's sound.

Much more than that--he has no serious jazz or Blues guitarists (SRV is excepted because he's so well known...and got killed early). It's thoroughly rock/rockin' blues oriented...which would be fine elsewhere but not in a general forum. These kids today...I dunno. A good listen to Tommy Emmanuel will make you forget all the emotions-appealing-only, hyper-dynamic-to-what-purpose? shredders.

'PASSION, GRACE AND FIRE'. Great guitarists.

JOHN McLaughlin was meant, of course.

My thoughts as well--glad we were brought up to speed in this Post. As the female players are lesser-known, here's 1-each stuff by them:
