I agree with you the downstairs namely all the great jazz organists from Fats Waller to Joey DeFrancesco:

I think this woman is amazing as well. She's going to be performing live in Singapore at Esplanade Concert Hall. A company I chance upon is actually doing a promotion in regards to her as well. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Verve-Mus...page_panel

^ Welcome aboard the Great MD, Yvette! I posted a clip by Valentina in the classical music forum. She got in hot water here in Canada! A dangerous and risky business when you mix politics with music! For the record, I think the Toronto Symphony bosses were wrong to cancel her concert! Did Dylan get cancelled for performing his protest songs?

Sorry man but for your information, I didn't actually mix the politics with music right here. If you thought I was, I apologize. I was just trying to share about her music here and see if anyone's interested to come to her concert at Esplanade since there would be a pair of free tickets.Confusedmile:

For pure pianism, the list starts with Art Tatum, though Oscar Peterson and Errol Garner deserve strong mentions:

For modern jazz piano, here's the top 2: Chick Corea and Keith Jarrett. Mr. Corea is the more popularly oriented player (starting with Return to Forever); Mr. Jarrett is more esoteric and better solo.

Jarrett covers it all! His Standards albums live or studio with Gary Peacock on bass and Jack DeJohnette on drums are sensational! He is the consummate pianist in my very humblest of opinions!
