How did the true meaning of Easter get turned into bunnies and chocolates? Anyone know?

Greed breeds commercialism in a capitalistic society. Christmas is a massive money maker. I think one of the large department stores in NY ( Macy's ???) created the Santa Claus with a Coke in hand. That spurred on the commercialistic onslaught. As for Easter, same deal by creating bunnies, Easter eggs and chocolate rabbits....not sure how it happened, didn't use google.

Wasn't happy about where the Bunny was heading. Therefore, took him off.
However, we got Easter Baskets even when I was a kid, a long time ago and they did not cost that much
and we didn't think anything being wrong with the bunnies or candy.
Same as Christmas. Are we going to stop buying our kids and people we love gifts at Christmas. It is a part of giving.
It doesn't take away the true meaning of Easter or Christmas which is Christ. Christ was carried gifts by the Wise Men at his birth.
If we have a problem with the cost, make the gifts
like we did way back when. It's cheaper.

A few years ago I made Easter Baskets and purchased the candy from stores. I purchased the baskets cheap
and enjoyed making them. The family loved them. They were very pretty.
Better to make them cause it was fun for me. Get more candy when making them ourself too.
These Easter Baskets at the stores have too many little toys in them and are expensive.
I remember too we got colored biddies for Easter when I was young. Bad thing about that was dogs got into the pen and killed them
after they grew up to be chickens but they were so cute when they were little.
I'm not wasting my time searching the web because of some harmless gifts that the kiddies have grown up to love.
What are we going to investigate next Valentines Day which to me only expresses love for one another.
Just remember to teach the kiddies about what Christ did for us and we will all be in good shape and leave the bunnies alone.
There is nothing wrong with giving or to have special days set aside for that day.
God made those bunnies and the little biddies. I'm sure He doesn't mind us giving and showing our love for one another.

Hubby went to see Janet Sunday night at a Baptist church.
Sure wish I could have went!!
The preacher said he was inviting her back so maybe next time.
Hubby said she stood right in front of him and sang.
He got a hug from her earlier in the day.
He said she sang all her famous songs of course I found one
he didn't know about.
He never was that fond of music till he met me.
After that he had to like it some or stay home since I love live concerts. Mostly it's the artists he likes.
