I was 16 or 17 when I watched Vanilla Sky for the first time (in 2003, I think). I was with a high school girlfriend at an acquaintance's house when we watched it. Upon first viewing I was pretty blown away by the film. To this day I consider it one of my favorite. Shortly after seeing it for the first time I wanted the soundtrack. Not the commercially sold one but every song used in the film. That's where I first heard Sigur Rós, songs "Svefn-g-englar" and "Untitled 4". I followed up on them and feel head over heels. I also fell in love with Spiritualized after watching that movie.

I don't even remember how old I was when I discovered my favorite band. Well I think it's the 1st band that really changed up how I feel about music. My cousin was here and surfing youtubes and she played Sum 41, Motivation. I think I was all like huh!? I was listening and I just started dancing around the room and I wanted to hear more. I have all their albums and even the new one, Screaming Bloody Murder! It really changed up what I look for when I want to hear something cool. I can't explain it but I know theres even more awesome bands now but I still listen to those albums sometimes. It's just what really made me love music. Well I still watch for new albums from a lot of new bands but I'll always be watching for anything new from Sum 41 too. I still like them as much as I did then.

I didn't know anything about Radiohead until they gave their In Rainbows CD out for free a few years back. I figured I might as well try them out. Well, I fell in love and the rest is history!
A great performance will convert me to be a fan

Different bands, different timeframes. Lol. Discovered Josh Groban in 1999 after my father passed away. Helped spark my interest in music beyond listening to it. Discovered The Rolling Stones as a child. Bizarre experience really, parents took me with them to the Voodoo Lounge Tour complete with adult content in the 90s. Flash ahead and I discovered a couple cool indie bands/artists, Sumo Cyco out of Canada, Laura Wilde out of L.A., USA/Australia, and Splashing Violet out of Philly PA, USA, as a result of fights I'd had with unrelated people online. Look them up on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube & iTunes if you want to check out their music.

My favorite band: AEROSMITH
How old were you when you first found them?: Honestly, I was the same age as I am now, mid-teen.
What were the circumstances in which you found them?:When I first got an Xbox, it had this demo of Guitar Hero Aerosmith and I decided to give it a try. I remember playing Dream On and crying afterwards, it was awesome.
Are there any special people connected with the find ?:'I can only thank mom's boyfriend for giving me the Xbox, but he had no idea that the demo was on the console, so I kinda was on my own on this one.
What attracted you to the band?:The music style, of course. I wasn't a huge fan of rock music before, but they were the ones who made me change my mind. And let's not forget their style!
How has your admiration for the band developed over the years ?:It hasn't been an year since I discovered them yet, but I have to say the admiration grows day by day.
What is the story of your exploration of their catalogue: Did you queue to get the releases on their day of issue?: They have just released their new album "Music From Another Dimension" while I was exploring their older tracks on Youtube. I also remember watching interviews, the first one that I saw was Oprah's with Steven Tyler.
Have you seen them live ? If so how often and what were your impressions?: No, unfortunately, but I saw some concerts on Youtube and I'm looking forward to experiencing the real thing.
Are there any other anecdotes you can share about them. Not so many people my age love their music the way I do, but I have to say I got one of my best friends addicted to some of their songs. It felt good, since I'm known to have the most random and unusual music tastes (that's what other people say, I don't think it's that way) and I'm not a trend-setter.
How do you feel about them today , have you attitudes changed ? As I said, my love for them grows bigger and bigger everyday while I discover new songs, new song meanings, news, pictures etc.

Steve TYler is one of the premiere rock vocalists in history! Joe Perry certainly is a great guitarist and they are awesome live! They play good melodic rock songs that get the crowd participating! Kudos to Aerosmith ! stephbiscuit21 Wrote:My favorite band: AEROSMITH
