Are you sure I’d object to you playing with me?

No Ruby, I have never heard Mr. Giltrap. Thx for the head's up. Something to explore over the weekend. How do you keep coming up with stuff I have never heard of??? You must be very adventurous...…..erm…. musically that is.

Just listening to your Gordon Giltrap track - Marvellous stuff! Have to buy some of his stuff. Great to hear some class musicianship in this age of manufactured pop.

I’ve always been impressed by Giltrap on the 12 string. This particular instrument belonged to John Martyn. Last time I saw a clip with Martyn using it it was about to fall apart from frequent abuse. Someone bravely bought it back to life.

ROGER WATERS "amused to death" cd,  1992

his third solo set
another concept album about war
album isn't totally about his father this time, but war in general, including Gulf War I
some good solid tunes on here, album fits nicely alongside The Final Cut
a pretty good album, I LIKE THIS ALBUM

favourite track:

BTW Dissily,
Roger Waters released an album last year
he narrated Stravinsky's The Soldier's Tale
an interesting album, failed to sell anywhere but I thought it was good
it could be something you might like to give a go if you haven't already???

Don't know where to post this - so many influences in this masterpiece of an album - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passion,_Grace_and_Fire

^Doubt there will be another combination of players as stellar as these three.

Dave Mason - Let it Flow

Quite middle of the road, this one, from the erstwhile Traffic guitarist/vocalist. Kinda comfortingly so. The two Jim Krueger written ballads appeal most to me, expect for the latter of the two being titled "What Do We Got Here?" which offends what grammatical sensibilities I do have. Lol! The former, "We Just Disagree" was the highest charting single off the album - a wry philosophical paean to the fizzling out of a relationship.

Reminiscing today - Counting Crows - August and Everything After on full tilt today. Reminds me of a wonderful time long, long ago.

Probably one of the most perfect pieces of music I have ever heard - Not the acoustic solo part - just the main track. Magnificent song. https://youtu.be/3-xj6QhqUNo
