Rollin in the Deep was played to the point of ridiculous...however I love ADELE...Skyfall single is brilliant..captured that 60s Shirley Bassey feel!

True; every well-known band seems to have a couple of overplayed songs so they can no longer tempt our jaded ears (though some people never get bored of those overplayed songs). At times I end up loathing those overplayed songs, which is a pity, since some of those songs are really good. Someone mentioned Hotel California. It's a very nice song, but I got somewhat fed up with it! Same happens with Sultans of Swing, by D. Straits: pretty nice one, but who hasn't got a bit bored after hearing it so many times everywhere? Welcome to the Jungle is an excellent hard rock song, but I can't listen to it any longer! Every Breath You Take, All of my Love (Led Zep.), etc, really good ones, but... no more, please! The most ultra-overplayed song ever: Smoke On The Water.

I listen to satellite radio now because the local stations are so bad. I remember back in the late 70s or early 80s one of local rock stations had a "free-for-all-weekend" where you called them up and told what you wanted to hear and they played it. At one point the DJ came on and told people that the stations looks at all the requests as a way of gauging what to play more of or less of throughout the year. "This is your chance to tell us what you want to hear. I mean, I can sit here and play 'Stairway to Heaven" and 'Freebird' all weekend long, if that's what you want." So, a lot of it goes on the listeners. The stations play what these people want to hear and what these people listen to is so limited and one-track that it killed radio. That's the same reason we're drowning in reality TV--because that's what idiots want to watch and there's so many of them that they get to call the shots.
