Metallica... it grew from there but they are still my top favorite.
I like Gwar System of a Down (these two are metal right?) and a whole lot more. 
Black Sabbath - song Black Sabbath totally earth shattering back in '69 !

My first Metal Band(s) were influenced by colours. Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult & Deep Purple all came into my life around the same time.

My first metal band was Disturbed.
David Draiman's voice was so unique that I was perplexed at first. Even when he's nearly growling in some particular songs, his voice is still clear enough to understand, and the lyrics in their songs are so meaningful and in depth; they have reason and purpose behind them. And also, what you see is what you get with Disturbed, and they don't care what other people think. They don't exactly live to please everybody else in the world. Plus, their songs are just so damn catchy!

Black Sabbath are Metal in my opinion. I mean they were early days and helped shape what we have now! We would have no Ozzfest if we had no Slack Babbath! Gotta love Ozzy.
Metallica broke my cherry. x

mines was megadeth as back in the 80s before i was born my dad won a kerrang (or some other magazine) competition and won the peace sells record. when i first enquired about metal when i was 14 or so i was handed that.
although when i discovered metallica i really got into them especially the album ride the lighting wich is my favourite metal album ever so i would say megadeth light my path to metallica. |
