Listening to the call of night birds and was reminded of this Blackberry Smoke song. Not sold on all their stuff but this one stuck! Funny how association works - they're almost as coolly imperturbable as J.J. Cale ...

I've been listening to Tangerine Dream - Lily on the beach because I have it on vinyl along with Optical Race, Zeit and Force Majeure. This music translates much better under headphones, tbh, and I have to say, Lily is generally a bit frenetic - one has to ponder what Lily might have been up to on the beach!! In the midst of it all, however, there's an oasis of calm - an uncharacteristic piano ballad which I have found wants to be played over and over again.

^He's back with a new album due out soonish - Hope and Fury - teaser track recently released ... seems like he might have a few things to say! Strange artist this one - he does not allow himself to be pinned down.
