What Are You Reading ?

My sister was reading this when she passed. I had to finish it for her. Set in Mississippi in the early 60's. White girl writes a story of how black maids view their life working for the man (or woman). Broken up into parts where each of the 3 main characters tells the unfolding from their view. Some stubborn southern racism. I'm sure Oprah loved this, as it portrays how she thinks all blacks but her live today.

My son-in-laws book that I read while in Florida. Not what I expected. I thought this would be about the mans music and life. Although there were spots of that, the book should have been titled Jimmy Buffetts Summer Vacation. That's what it was about. Jimmy flys/sails the southern hemisphere to celebrate his 50th. Plenty of parties and fishing and adventure, but not much about music. Plenty of parrotheads out there to have made this a best seller. Well written and plenty of stories to tell. Just not something I would recommend to anyone interested in learning about his music career.

Good riddance too. All that contrived crying and weeping and fake emotion. You can just see the guys in the background holding up the signs that say 'laugh, clap, cry, go hysterical'. Who's that other airhead who always starts her show with this ridiculous dancing routine? - she seems to think she's Michael Jackson. Another fake. And then the hordes of hysterical housewives who go ape everytime they get a freebie. It's pathetic. TV has sunk to it's lowest level.

lol, the other airhead would be Ellen Degenerate.
Haven't watched any of these daytime talk shows in years, but I'm sure nothing has changed.

We have these mindless soaps here - Coronation Street, Emmerdale & EastEnders. I call them Constipation Street, Enemadale & RearEnders because they are all basically a load of sh**! Have no idea how someone can actually watch this rubbish.

Little House on the Prairie has a more intelligent storyline than any of these 'chewing gum for the eyes' shows.

Michael Langdon's "little house" and "highway to heaven" were great shows IMO.

as a footnote to MH....since Oprah did that show outside the Sydney Opera House a while ago, tourism from the US to Australia has gone up 1000%(according to the news a few nights ago)....which shows one of two things....either Americans have learned something about our sunburnt country or they are so gullable that they will do anything Oprah says and does????....im hoping its the former, but pretty sure its the latter!

Loved by all.
All women anyway.
