Joni has done a few songs with animals in the title- this is probably the one I like best:

From the same album there is the song "Coyote", but that probably doesn't count because it seems to be the nickname she gives to a travelling companion, rather than referring to an actual coyote.

I listened to the Joni track...im not sure what it is about her/her music but I simply don't like her and I cannot explain why...

two other successful female singers of the same era:

Carly Simon, im a big fan...
Carole King, apart from Tapestry, I can take or leave her...

Carole King - I can't think of any "animal" songs but there is a cat on the cover of Tapestry, and a horse on the cover of her album "Thoroughbred".
