Now, is it wrong for comedian Frankie Boyle to refer to Barak as Muslim O'Gunbomb? YES! I think it's terribly wrong. It feeds into the fear that McCain's campaign and others were trying to inject into this election (which from the start sickened me). He is NOT a Muslim .. and .. let's say even if he was ..who cares!! I am truly growing tired of all the racial profiling that has been going on in our day and age.

Perhaps I should have explained this a little better...

The origins of this lay in the irony that the US could have been electing someone whose first name sounds not dissimilar to Iraq, and that his surname is only one letter away from being Osama (further, I found out today that his middle name is Hussein. You couldn't make it up !!). Hence his view that the US would virtually be governed by someone called Muslim O'Gunbomb.

Think I did him a bit of a disservice.

He certainly has the right to call Obama whatever he pleases. You know, free speech and all (do you guys have that in the UK?) I also believe the best comedy is at least a tiny bit offensive. Some of the best is very offensive indeed.

That said what the comedian named him is just not funny. Maybe it would go over better with me if I heard it in the context of his comedy routine.

I'm so glad that Obama won! The mere thought of McCain taking office with the chance of his health history coming back to haunt him, and Palin taking charge of the country scared me to death. Some of the things she has said are ridiculously dumb and very reminiscent of the President we've been dealing with for the past eight years. America is ready for a change - and it was laid out in plain sight when Obama won by a landslide. We also look better as a country to the rest of the world by electing our first black President - it shows that we are serious about changing for the better.

I just hope that nothing bad happens to this presidency, we don't want our first black president to get shot or do a bad job. I'm hoping he can pave a way to get people more comfortable with black people, cause I know most people aren't racist but are uncomfortable with other races.
