Here's my Chicago story ! I bought tickets to see them in 1970 or 71 ??? at the infamous Montreal Forum in August...never made it to the concert....tickets were around $20 way back then...quite a bit of money at the time !

However the four of us, two couples, noticed in the local paper that The Allman Brothers Band (with Duane) were playing at Les Place Des Arts outdoors for $5.00 !!!! We all sold our Chicago tickets at face value within minutes and made a $15 profit ! The following week , Santana and the next week Black Sabbath, all for only $5.00 !!! We could only stay for the Allmans and man what a concert ...a replica of the Live at Filmore East album ! I even shouted out "Whipping Post "(as on the album) and Berry Oakley broke into that thundering bass intro...I'll never forget that rush !

I didn't really regret not seeing Chicago at the time...I still love them however as well as The Allman Brothers ! But we just had to see Duane Allman live ! ..of course he was killed in a motorcycle accident afterwards..what a tremendous loss to music !!!

Good decision or not ????...what say ye ???...Livingstone Taylor, brother of James, opened the concert and he wasn't too shabby either...good Southern rock !
