I'm mixed about this topic......................Some bands are best live and you can't ever seem to capture that on alive album...............some bands are not so go in the studio but are great at live albums............................some bands can only work well in the studio
Nice to be able to go back to trust and friendship!!!!!!!!!
It's a mixed up sensation this being alive
Oh! it wears a man down into the ground
It's the strangest elation
I can't describe it
Oh it leaves a man weary
It makes a man frown..............................Chris Simpson ( "Mixed Up Sensations" 1975 Martin's Cafe )

Led Zep is one of those bands that were made for the live circuit.

i think all genuinely great artists are better live performers than studio artists

I agree completely - great live band - having said that BR was a brilliant studio album - caught everyone by surprise.

I have just joined MUSIC DISCUSSION so this is my first post.
I like all genres of music due to the fact that I have been exposed to all types of music for the past 47 years.
I prefer a live in person concert or live album to the studio album in most cases.
The Killers - Live at the Royal Albert Hall, London is a fabulous live album. Lots of crowd participation - singing along with the band. The sound is excellent also so the crowd doesn't drown out the band.
Please let me know what "live crowd/audience participation" albums you enjoy.
Thanks,
SteveO
