Overplayed Rock Songs
#11
Exactly ! That was my choice - Hotel California. It's even so bad that at the moment I'm sick of the Eagles and that type of country rock.Recently we got a new so called alternative/metal radio station. For the most part a lot of the songs are new to me and the only " metal " or even close to metal tune I've heard is Black Rain - Soundgarden(more hard rock than metal).

Once in a while some radio stations will have an hour when they play a "classic" album or a live concert ! I enjoy those and most of the genre related internet radio stations. However for the most part I avoid the radio because you can't control the music and most of the time I don't like all the songs.

As soon as I saw this thread the first song that popped into my mind was Don't Stop believing.
But apparently I'm too late, as everyone else has already posted this. lol

I'll just add one more from here in my neck of the woods - and it's a real shame because the song is Legend - Zep's Stairway to Heaven....way too much airplay so I don't listen to the radio much only talk radio occasionally.

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama. Heard it yesterday and thought it should get a mention on this thread. The funny thing is I was listening to Pandora, set to 80's pop and they threw this in the mix. Very strange.

That happens because a guy named Storz noticed that people in the diner he ate at were playing a few songs on the juke box much more often than other songs. If the people paying to hear songs chose certain tunes over others, would you not want to maximize you money making with as many nickels as possible, and as a result, limit the choices of songs you knew statistically would not be played very often? Probably not on a music forum, but in the market place, absolutely.
