Was just listening to a version of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" by Offa Rex, on The Queen of Hearts and decided to look up the original. It was written by Ewan McColl for Peggy Seeger - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VP8qXnnn4tc - hmmm - not sure I'd like to hear that rendition again!
This version by The Kingston Trio was the first recording after that to reach the mainstream, so to speak ....
