I am from Warwick, Georgia (the US state). Despite having a population of a little more than 400, Warwick and its surrounding area have been the site of a few famous battles against the Native Americans. Too bad they didn't win.

I live in South Shields, which is a small seaside town in the North East of England, near Newcastle.
The first unsinkable, self-righting lifeboat, designed by William Wouldhave, was launched from Shields in 1790. Also, in 1977 the town was visited by boxer Mohammed Ali whose wedding was blessed in the local mosque at Laygate, which is opposite the Dolly Peel pub, where I run my buskers night! :-)

I'm from Reutlingen, Germany. I'm swabian (you know, Schnitzel, Spätzle etc...). Reutlingen has one of the last tanning schools and people from all over Germany (and Europe) come to study here. Friedrich List, who developed the american "National System"(aka American School), was born here.

I actually live just outside of The University of Virginia. Although I've never taken classes there, I heard from the locals that it's one of the hardest schools to get accepted to outside of Ivy-League schools. There's not too much going on here since it's actually a small town (when you don't count the university population), but everything you need is here from groceries and restaurants to having your car worked on.

I live in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States. Atlanta is known for many things, from being the birthplace of Martin Luther King Jr. to hosting the 1996 Summer Olympics. It also was the site of major battles in the American Civil War. Today it is a liberal city in a very conservative state.

Hmm, I can't think of any little-known facts. I've only lived here for five years.
