Your First Rock Album
#11
Appetite For Destruction - Guns N Roses.

I used to think that was the cream of the crop as far as 'Rock' albums went, but now I realise Ok Computer is Smile.

My fist 'rock' albums (i say albums because i got them as a package) were all of Rage Against The Machine's studio albums in May 2007 - Rage Against The Machine, Evil Empire, The Battle Of Los Angeles, Renegades. But i became a proper music lover after buying Audioslave's self-titled debut in July 2008

Fleetwood Mac: Tango in the Night. Brilliant just brilliant - better than Rumours if you ask me.

The last time I played TITN, a few months ago, it blew my head off, too.

The first album i ever purchased was 311's "Transistor"... up until then I only listened to the popular songs from the early 90's, so i would illegally download them and burn mix cd's... then a friend of mine described this album to me and i decided what the hell... since then i stopped downloading, and started buying actual albums... now i judge bands on whether their albums are solid from beginning to end... no more one hit wonder bullshit

Can't say it was rock but it sure rocked my world.

Dylan's The Times They Are A Changin'

Never forget moms reaction. What the hell is that God-awful noise? Turn that **** down!:blah:

The first album I could call my own was Green Day's American Idiot. I played the CD through the lifespans of 4 different CD players, until finally the disk just gave up. I was devastated; I didn't know it was possible to outlive digital media.

Since that album, I have bought so many more...

The first entire rock album I own I think is Liberation Transmission - Lostprophets. However I was raised on my parents tape collection (derived from their sadly almost extinct vinyl collection) practically from birth. This spanned many rock genres from the mid 50s to late 80s with some pop in there too. As a result I could sing along with T-rex's Hot Love before I could properly talk Smile
Listen to the wind blow,
Watch the sun rise,
Runnin' in the shadows.
Damn your love, Damn your lies,
