Dude, Green Day did NOT invent pop punk, and the whole genre is quite bad (IMO) but on the subject of the playlist, I think you might like Grand Archives. I lost all respect for Green Day when they covered Working Class Hero, and then everybody thought it was an original song, and Billie Joe Armstrong's article in Rolling Stone about the Sex Pistols made me want to vomit.
