SMOKEY "changing all the time" cd, 1975
UK soft rock band
sophomore album of 21, i own half a dozen early albums
notice the their name is spelt with "EY" and not "IE", that change happened on the following album
not a bad album, nothing to dislike here as with all the albums i own
stand out tracks are the two singles ("if you know how to love me" is one of them)
album scores a 2.2 for me which means
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
fav:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

GINO VANNELLI "big dreamers never sleep" 1987
from Lynne's vinyl collection
i have a couple of his more latter day albums
was so surprised when "wild horses" came on
had no idea that was his song, well i probably would of back in the day but forgotten it
album has a distinct 1980s production but it still works
lots of well crafted easy listening/pop/soft rock songs here
album scores 2.3 for an initial listen which means
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
favourite is the obvious one:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

JOHN LENNON & YOKO ONO "milk and honey" vinyl, 1984
recorded between late '79 and mid '80 during the same sessions as Double Fantasy
and like that album half are John's songs, the remainder Yoko's
and like that album Yoko's songs are good to very good IMO
John's are very good to excellent,
so soft rock is what i would call it but it does venture into "alternative" with Yoko's material.
that said album scores 2.4 from me which means
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
favourite is the lead off single:
"BTO....Bachman,Turner,Overweight
They were big in the 70s....for five minutes,on a Saturday,after lunch..." - Me 2014.

his eleventh of sixteen, between us Lynne and i own them all
straight forward soft rock, blue eyed soul/r+b and rock on here
nothing to not like on here, just a consistent album of real songs by a real artist.
songs mostly about life and his reflections of his own plus a few songs about life in general
album scores 2.0 from me which means
I LIKE THIS ALBUM

soft rock here with a couple of pop tunes and a couple of ballads also
big hit was "bette davis eyes" which could almost be the weakest track on here IMO
wasnt sure how it would fare this time but it was a thoroughly enjoyable listen
album would score 2.3 from me which means
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
