MGMT's second album, released in 2010.
This album embraces the stylistic scattergun approach of Ween.
Broadly it consists of Alt Rock with at least one toe in the Electronica camp. Produced by Sonic Boom of Spacemen 3 fame, who gives the proceedings a touch of Psychedelia.
Heard hints of Grandaddy, Mercury Rev, stuff like that. The albums centrepiece Siberian Breaks is a mini-epic that works wonderfully.
AllMusic 4+/5 stars.

A band who operates out of Myspace, but don't let that put you off it. It's an amazingly beautiful with a very humanizing quality. Why music like this can't get popular but ******* U2 can just confuses me

GOOD CHARLOTTE "cardiology" cd,2010
bought this one in Corey's discount bin in a 3 for $20 deal last week....
Corey smiled that "youre not gonna like it" smile when he saw me with it...that should have been my "out", but "no" i didnt put it down and now i have a stupid album that i had to play!...
well, i had heard "chronicles of life and death" some years ago but never got it even though it sounded pretty good, maybe i should have..and maybe a should have left this one alone, but it didnt happen and here it is!
14 tracks and a brief "intro" piece of repeatative punk...no not punk, but thats what the "genre police" call it so i have to oblige or i am a criminal i guess!
IMO this is simplistic pop without a shread of intelligence attached.
some nice harmonies on several tracks but for the most part i do not like it...four like tracks and ten dislikes here give this a rating of 1.3...
'allmusic" rate this 3/5 or 1.8...far too high IMHO!

Courtesy of Robbie.
Israel's third album, from 2011.
Rootsy music (banjos & stuff), with vocals reminiscent of Ray LaMontagne. There seems to be loads of this sort of music out there, and much of it is merely OK, but this one has something about it.
Good songs, well sung and played.
Good one, Robbie...
Not scored on AllMusic.

After the christening by Magazine live, I'm currently addicted to dodgy/experimental/post-punk music and this is one of my latest ventures from Wire's third album '154'. Enjoy!

Follow up to their eponymous debut, released in 2011.
Since their first album was so good, it's hard not to judge this against it.
On first listen, this is still pastoral-sounding Alt-Folk music of a very high standard. It doesn't seem to be quite as melodically good as the debut, but I've a feeling this will be a grower.
Good, but needs further listening...
AllMusic 4/5 stars.
