Sad to see that William Hurt has passed away. One of the true greats of the film industry. One of my favourite actors.

^^
to me William Hurt was a lot like Donald Pleasance in that he played pivotal roles essential to the plot but rarely the number one man.

Altered States, The Big Chill, Children of a Lesser God - all brilliant movies.

i would add Gorky Park to the list and the lighthearted "michael" also. im not a fan of superhero movies in general so theres at least 10 Avengers movies and relative spinoffs i would not watch... (only superhero movies i indulge in are X-Men and is was only Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen that suckered me in to those)

https://www.msn.com/en-au/motoring/news/...d=msedgntp and now two stories that defy any sort of humanity: the first from Philly an unprovoked attack on a pregnant woman: https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/world/pre...hp&pc=U531 and the second, not only is the unprovoked attack upon a 60+ year old woman but it is disgusting that two adult males walk by and do nothing about it: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...ation.html

Every now and then I buy an off-the-wall music magazine just to hear what people are up to. I bought the latest edition of 'Wire' and it comes with a CD of original music - mainly experimental stuff - new-age/world/electronica stuff. Busy listening to this at the moment and all I can say is there must be some seriously hard drugs in circulation at present because the stuff on this disc borders on the bizarre. A lot of it sounds like random experimentation without a clue as to where it is all going. A sonic free-for-all and no real focus or journey to the tracks at all. Humans are weird. I sure as hell could not listen to this a second time. Technology is playing the musician instead of the other way around.
Correction - found one track that actually makes sense to me. 'Ocean' by Hinako Omori - whoever that is. Not bad. There is hope... Now I am listening to the next track - it sounds like electronic farts in a car parts factory. God help us. The next track is called 'An Absolute Living Hell Part 1'. Well at least they got the title right. OK I need an Asprin now. Really must stop listening to this stuff a 3.30 in the morning. I won't be getting any sleep tonight...

i buy "uncut" when there is something interesting for me on the cover,
that too contains a bonus cd of recently released tracks, most are terrible but i occasionally find something to explore further...

whatever you think of Arnie as a person i thought this televised speech beamed into Russia might just get the 'people' thinking about the truth that is happening in Ukraine. worth watching if you have a spare 9 minutes.

i had no idea that 'death by firing squad' was still an option in several American States and it has just been reintroduced in Sth Carolina.
