Please note. Wombat Productions was the Miami promotion company mentioned in Miles biography.
We did not TRY to sue him.
We most successfully sued him for taking what was probably the biggest dive in musical history.
He and his agents at Apogee Management assumed that we were a powerless "bunch of animals from the hills of North Carolina" and would be incapable of getting our deposit money back from him.
At that point in his life, Miles had signed over most of his property and was essentially judgment proof. But we did have liens on his new royalties, which is why he didn't record any albums during this period, as all monies would have gone to Wombat. More unfortunately for Miles, one of my father's friends was a bigwig in the American Auditorium Manager's Association (now called International Association of Venue Managers) and had Miles blacklisted for five years in every hall that belonged to the association, which was essentially every hall in America with about more than 100 seats..
His biography resumes on the day the blacklist was scheduled to be renewed and he repaid our deposit plus damages. And we were all friends.
Soon I will post details of the contract and documents from the lawsuit.
