Midge Ureâs name has been popping up all over the place, so Iâve been listening to Ultravox, something Iâve not done for a while. Vienna used to be a favourite way back in the mists of time, but listening now, Iâm torn between the album from their earliest pre-Midge incarnation, Ultravox! which has some great tracks and a naïve, honest feel to it, and the very much Midge driven Lament which is at the other end of the spectrum â their most sophisticated and final studio album (not counting reunions), which I have to say, has been a thoroughly enjoyable listen. I found two live clips of âLamentâ â one from 1984 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIpB4cSCHhU, and one from 2008. Twenty-four years apart, and both fantastic, although improved technology helps the latter along somewhat! Nothing wrong with that voice - dunno how he does it!
