Holds the title of best selling female artist of the 1950's and has sold 100 million over 6 decades. Signed her first contract in 1948 and peaked in the 50's. Her signature
song is the beautiful Tennessee Waltz. It spent 13 weeks at the top of the chart in 1950. It was adopted by the state as an official state song. Three other number 1's in
those early years. Then along came rock 'n' roll and Patti was for the history books. She had a few minor hits into the early 60's and continued recording and performing
into the early 2000's. She died in 2013 at the age of 85. All tracks on this compilation album hit the chart between 1948 and 1953, from #1 to a #24. It is a 2 volume set
that I only have Volume 1 of. Has to be one of those I meant to follow up on and just never did.
