I don't know what prompted me to listen to Going Down by Freddie King, other than I haven't heard it for ages. It was recorded in 1971 for the Getting Ready album, apparently as an attempt to bring him to a rock audience and by golly it worked! The production is very dynamic and is more blues rock, than pure blues (imo). Sadly, Freddie was only in his early forties when he died.
