Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes

[jazzboCR]

Been together since '01 and on their way to being a Crescent City institution. These Classically trained musicians combine so many different elements, they had to go in "Alternative"--funk, R&R, Gypsy/Klezmer, Latin horns and and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (thanks to Big Ears for that phrase). No Wiki and their AMG is, er, sketchy--5 live albums only are listed though their Site lists 5 others: http://www.johnnysketch.com/ If you're still with me in this post, you're gonna like'm.

Some tunes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QesaPdArYrA << Pretty amazing stuff, ain't it?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vp855okYOv0 << Their songs run long but they are not a jam band--too tightly constructed for that label.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_S-aeMdbo8 << Terrif songs, great solos and they play off each other so well...

SPECIAL NOTE to Midwesterners and Canadians escaping the Winter blahs in SWFlorida--hear them and Here Comes the Mummies here: http://funkfestpuntagorda.com/Home_Page.html << It's a great party that keeps getting better, year-over-year
