I am a fan of Leon! I like his lazy Sunday jazz blues style! I only have his debut album On The Track from which the song Polly Wolly Doodle came from as heard in your great posts Jazz! He specialises in early 20th Century parlour music when good songs were written with an addictive melody and simple lyrics. The New Orleans style brass and wind instruments give his music a genuine tone for the era. I noted that Scott Black plays that gorgeous muted cornet on Shine On Harvest Moon! I was surprised to see that Polly Wolly Doodle was written by Burl Ives and Ray Charles!
From the album On The Track here's a gem from the immortal composer Irving Berlin!
