Don Cheadle is the driving force behind, directing and starring in a new movie bio of the years 1975-1980 when MD made or at least released, no new music. A complex, enigmatic, idiosyncratic (and all those other words) man was Mr. Davis. His Kind of Blue is still the best selling jazz record of all time but even on this most-accessible of recordings, it was all Miles, all the time. Love the guy and his music; don't even pretend to understand him. Anyway back to Topic "A"--here's a 1/2 page article on this project.: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/14/movies...ahead.html
One thing I will never understand is why Mr. Davis is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Here's a partial transcript of an interview with him from 1985--beautifully written article but it contains some rough language: http://www.theguardian.com/music/2012/no...-backpages

A man accustomed to hear only the echo of his own sentiments, soon bars all the common avenues of delight, and has no part in the general gratification of mankind--Dr. Johnson
