"Fun" bands--an ongoing series

Austin Lounge Lizards Brilliantly skewering all manner of pop genres (their main vein is country/bluegrass). Putting out albums and lightly touring since '84 and all the discs are well-crafted. Helps to have musical knowledge of what they're mocking but their stuff stands on its own. Here's a discog and wiki: http://www.allmusic.com/artist/austin-lo...iscography and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin_Lounge_Lizards Here's what they do:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48H9MV-uPdg << another poor concert vid--I just wanted to show what they looked like...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZpXj0CLk6U << here's what the songs sound like
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ1tMp8Q0dU << nails this folk icon to the wall
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9zWh9gR4...AbPNlmR4UR << another sub-genre forever altered

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NO30Yznbnrg << I'll never again listen to Kenny Rogers the same way again
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVrhaYjyLVo << pleased somebody recorded this concert

Thing of it is, they are all superior players who love the musics they so deliciously satirize--good harmony too. Check'm out.
