SteveO Wrote:Without a doubt...perpetual progressive music pioneers!!!! J, they have a new one out in July...with a new lead singer Jon Davison http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Davison
...looking forward to it!
I spotted that they had released a new album a couple of days ago. This one remains my favourite of theirs - http://youtu.be/b3bysb4T5mg - a piece about a man who wants to make a sculpture of a beautiful woman, but only when she dies is he able to capture her perfection. Has some really interesting twists and turns and is written by the drummer even though there are no real drum parts except for some percussive bits. From the album 'Going for the One', which incidentally also has the track 'Awaken' which is nothing short of pure genius. Not everyone's cup of tea, but for me this album has an ethereal sheen to it. They did something unique in the studio when they created this and I am not talking about the music - there is something out of the ordinary in the production of this album. Recorded in Montreux, and the same sound is found in MO's 'Discovery' album and Rick Wakeman's solo works around the same period.
