Live debut from 1980.
Rhythm & Blues band from South London, that I caught live a couple of times about 30 years ago. Excellent live band as is demonstrated on this album.
Mainly cover songs, but delivered with energy & enthusiasm which was clearly appreciated by the rowdy audience.
With their sharp suits, NBZ were the Yardbird revivalists to The Jam's Kinks fixation. Unfortunately they never managed the success of The Jam, probably due to the lack of a writer of Weller's calibre.
RoviMusic 4/5 stars.
They may never have had a break-out hit but they've been going strong for 35 years and are the support act this year for a popular group.; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nine_Below_Zero
