Jay-Z is the best rapper alive. That American Gangster Album really pushed him to number one for me. I heard a lot of his stuff growing up but really got it when I listened to that.

And I agree whole heartedly with JonG. I know lots of people who love him simply because he's so mainstream and on the radio a lot. He doesn't rap, he performs.
