Not big on Irish music or any of the artists emanating from these gloomy isles with the exception of Thin Lizzy and Enya - for different reasons. Been here 14 years and still waiting for ONE hot day with real BLUE skies - it is not to be. However here is one ray of light in the otherwise all-pervasive greyness that is so indicative of the weather in this country. Van Morrison - Avalon Sunset. Some amazing stuff on this. I remember first hearing this at a barbecue in Cape Town, South Africa. We were all sitting around the pool on an idyllic day and everyone just drifted off to this amazing album. Everyone just tuned in. One of those rare moments in life. Will never forget it.
