I hate this band. Meaningless tripe, let's write the dumbest most generally encompassing middle of the road songs so we can get into the Billboard Top 100 by association alone without having to think or create anything new. And then for the video, since the song doesn't mean anything and can't be visualized beyond just a plain gray backdrop or a picture of cardboard, let's do something completely unrelated and forcibly crazy to make it look like we have fun in our free time instead of just pacing back and forth taking anti-anxiety meds because we're so worried what the American public thinks of us. "one of us" "real world" those are real interesting themes... is this "real world" she is speaking of a completely gray dystopian future populated by robots? Because that's what she's channeling here... gray void. Seems so anti-real I can hardly listen to it without feeling like I just snorted a percocet. She could probably stand to do some more "crying to her mother"... might bring some life back to her "art". People have feelings still, right?
