Producer: Elton John/Greg Penny
25th album, #13 US, #3 UK, #6 Australia, #3 Canada
Singles - Believe (#13 US, #15 UK, #23 Australia, #1 Canada)
..........Made In England (#52 US, #18 UK, #48 Australia, #5 Canada)
..........Blessed (#34 US, #3 Canada)
..........Please (#33 UK, #27 Canada)
Nice comeback from that nasty Duets idea. After 3 albums with Chris Thomas producing Elton takes on the task, with assistance from Greg Penny.
This was the last album to include long time band member Ray Cooper on bass. Elton got a Grammy nomination for the single Believe and an AMA
nomination as Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist. He lost out on both. Believe was the highest charting of the 4 singles, with Canada taking it to
#1. That wasn't one of my favs, House gets my vote. Elton was fresh off of his success with the Lion King soundtrack when he started working on
this. Paul Carrack from Squeeze shows up on a couple of tracks, and we have the master himself Paul Buckmaster contributing on the string
sections. All up a very nice album.
