I listened to this album because I liked the cover ! I was very surprised !!!!! A history, if you will, of retro funk ...Tower of Power, Earth Wind and Fire and Kool and the Gang come to mind with lots of other older bands..Even snippets of prog rock ! It takes one back to the sixties and towards the end it propells itself into the future.

Number One in Canada at the moment so it can't all be bad. Daft Punk are two guys from France who definitely have a sense of pop music history ! This album will be in the Top 10 of 2013 for certain !

THIS ALBUM HAS TO BE LISTENED TO FROM START TO FINISH SO I AM NOT POSTING YOU TUBE SINGLES !!!!

"Regarding the style of the album, they sought a "west coast vibe", referencing such acts as Fleetwood Mac, The Doobie Brothers and the Eagles.[20] Daft Punk also acknowledged that the record pays homage to Michael Jackson, The Cars and Steely Dan. The recording of live synthesizer parts was done in a progressive rock fashion, with the pop sensibilities of Wizzard and The Move.[22] Daft Punk specifically looked to the album Rumours by Fleetwood Mac and The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd as models.[7] Bangalter felt that, "The most important records in music, whether it's Led Zeppelin [...] or The White Album or Sgt.
