MORRISSEY "viva hate" cd,1988.
debut solo set from the then defunct UK indi band The Smiths...
album was originally titled "education in reverse" out here, but it got recalled after two days on the shelves as Morrissey(or his management) decided they should use the same title as the UK...well, i did get a copy of the 'education' titled album, apparently only thirty or forty only over got sold prior to the recall, so my almost mint condition copy may well be worth something to a Morrissey-ophile one day...
bought this cd copy a month or so ago simply to continue the vinyl to cd changeover thing i do every now and then...
this is the typical wrist-slashing/depressingly mundane Morrissey that we all know, only problem here is that Johnny Marr is no longer involved, thus it is substandard, even by the Smiths standards..
nothing great on here to match the early singles of The Smiths, but cudo's to Mozz, he is still out there performing and releasing albums for the original "emo's" of society!
one of the tracks on here is called 'margaret on the guillotine"...a song a song describing the state she left the UK in after she left politics, i guess Morrissey could finally sigh a breath of relief a month or so ago now 'the witch is dead'...LOL!
