THE BAND "the band" cd,1969.
ranked #45 on the Rolling Stone top500 list....
i obviously have this one, their best of set and "music from big pink"...big pink is in the pile waiting to come out, not sure why i have three Band albums as i find them very average as vocalists, musicians and for the most part their writing.
and this album is no different to me...
words to sum up this one that come to mind are, boring, bland, lack of imagination, same old same old, no fire in the belly etc etc...
i cannot for the life of me see why it is placed in the top500 albums of alltime,im obviously missing something here???
that said, there are good tracks on here, but nothing that i can say i love and 'the night they drove old dixie down' simply has no feel in the vocals like the yearning pain that Joan Baez instilled in it so well., but hey its an ok version, and thats about all i can say about the rest of them also...average songs sung and performed very average.
I LIKE THIS ALBUM
