ELVIS COSTELLO & THE ATTRACTIONS "brutal youth" cd,1994. #2 UK

Elvis' seventeenth studio album in seventeen years and not one solitary bad one in that time...awesome feat IMO!
after its predeccessor,the almost classical sounding "the juliet letters", this ws a return to the form and sound i expected of him when at his best...a couple of ballady type things but mostly good to very good late 1970s EC & The Attractions sounds on here...the angry man was back, with biting,brutal lyrics/songs about his childhood in a warts and all story!
was actually the first studio album with The Attractions since the mid 1980s, and also his most raw and edgy sounding collection since that time also.
again, nothing bad on this one, but not as many great tunes as some of his other albums have, but still a good piece of work by anyone's standards!
