Dreadful news that the three year old Kentucky bred colt I'll Have Another was scratched from today's Belmont Stakes. No triple crown winner again...a 34 year drought!
I have always thought that the horse is the most beautiful animal in the world with its' raw beauty and powerful running ability in full stride!
I was really looking forward to this race today however the decision to retire I'll Have Another was a smart one as he had the onset of tendonitis. The jockey had his tenureship in Vancouver for the past six years and the horse was owned by a Windsor, Ontario businessman for a Canadian connection.
It's a sad day for all Canadians and all horse racing enthusiasts!
